Kyoto Trading was founded in 2015 in Kyoto, Japan — our headquarters still stands in Fushimi, the city’s historic sake-brewing district. From there we work directly with breweries and tea gardens across Japan: no middlemen, no compromise, every product selected at origin and shipped at a constant 0°C.
From Kyoto we have grown across three continents — Hong Kong in 2016, where we serve 600+ venues including Michelin-starred restaurants, and Düsseldorf in 2017 for Europe. In 2024 we established Kyoto Trading Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne, bringing our two houses, AUSAKE and AU MATCHA, to restaurants, cafes, retailers and distributors in every major Australian city.
